Carey is a former high fashion model, who measures at nearly 5'10", was popular with American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was a renowned geologist and recognized as the Scientist in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Her father was a geologist who traveled across the globe as part of his profession. When she was attending the University of Colorado at part-time and was able to catch the attention of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. She moved to France in 1980 and lived briefly in Paris as well as Bordeaux before returning to New York to continue with her studies at the college level and her modeling career. Soon, she was appearing on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, etc. While modeling, she studied literary studies full-time in New York University. Then she became interested in acting and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her part was a minor one of Club Paradise with Robin Williams In 1986. She loves rock climbing, skiing, and windsurfing.
