
Teri Lynn Hatcher was the daughter of Teri Hatcher, who was born in Palo Alto California on December 8, 1964. Her mother, Esther, was a computer programmer at Lockheed Martin, and her father, Owen, was an nuclear physicist and electrical engineer. Teri trained in ballet at San Juan School of Dance, and was raised in Sunnyvale. Fremont High School was where she was the Featherettes' dance captain and was awarded the "Most likely to be the Solid Gold Dancer" award. After graduation, Hatcher pursued a degree in engineering and math at De Anza College and took acting classes at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri admitted that she'd endured sexual abuse by her uncle, Richard Hayes Stone, starting at the age of 5. she assisted Santa Clara County prosecutors with their case against him following a 14 year-old victim of Stone's suicide. Stone was convicted in prison for four counts, pleading guilty to molestation. In prison, he died from colon cancer.
