
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was integral in winning the league title. Morgan was 22, at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
